IEC 61131-3 STRATON workbench facilitates VCU integration on MVB network
LEROY AUTOMATION's VCU and I/O modules can easily be configured and/or programmed using all IEC 61131-3 compliant description languages including : Structured Text (ST), Ladder Diagram (LD), Sequential Function Chart (SFC), Function Block Diagram (FBD), User-defined Function Block (UDFB), Instruction List (IL) and State Machine description.

IEC 61131-3 STRATON integrates the MVB communication network protocol which is defined accorcing to IEC 61375-3 standard, and it supports EMD/ESD+ physical layers.

For Train Communication Networks (TCN) architectured with Multifunctional Vehicle Bus, TCMS design and integration engineers can efficiently describe nodes and configure graphically and automatically their MVB ports (device addresses, ID parameters, message data functions, data telegram description, number of logical ports, sink and source configuration, etc...).

The MVB network configuration file is then compiled, generated, and loaded automatically by STRATON ; without having to worry about manual MVB binary file generation and loading for each individual MVB node - thus reducing fatal integration errors.

TCMS simulator for validation in train laboratory
In partnership with LEROY AUTOMATION, our partner OCPT successfully designed an advanced TCMS (Train Control and Monitoring System) simulator, in order to test and validate the train control logic, fieldbus communication parameters, I/O management and configuration of TCMS subsystems (propulsion chain, signaling interface, HVAC, automatic doors, service brake, auxiliary power converters, dead-man vigilance device, maintenance event loggers, sanding valves, wheel slide protection, energy meter, lavatory modules, etc...).

LEROY AUTOMATION's main TCMS hardware components includes vehicule control units (VCU), remote I/O modules (RIOM), and field bus communication gateways (GW). Other critial devices such as Driver Desk Units (DDU) or Human-man Interfaces (HMI) as well as communication bricks are sourced from selected world-class third-party partners.

All TCMS key components are fully integrated in a pre-cabled 19-inch industrial cabinet with qualified power supply modules, and all the necessary infratructure to allow the user to focus on its core TCMS software design and integration competence. The flexibility and open evolutions of this simulator is enabled by IEC 61131-3 STRATON software development tools which are supplied with the TCMS simulator to facilitate communication networks (Ethernet, MVB, LON, CAN 2.0 A/B, RS485/RS422, 20mA Current Loop) and protocols (EtherNet/IP - CIP, TRDP, PROFINET, MODBUS, CANopen, CAN J1939, etc...).

Such integrated solution optimises to reduce time-to-market to a few weeks or months compared to lenghty and time consuming "traditional" TCMS integration phases.
